It was founded in Teiji 3 (1364) by Nichicho Shonin. The guardian deity is Hokushin Myoken Daibosatsu, the god of the Big Dipper, and it is said that even today, on specific days in March, the North Star shines directly above the temple. There are still magnificent pine trees along the approach to the temple, which are the origin of its name, and you can spend a relaxing time surrounded by the stars and pines.
History of the Temple

Since its founding by Nichicho Shonin in Teiji 3 (1364), it has been located along the approach to the temple as a sub-temple of Minobusan Kuonji. In honor of the guardian deity Hokushin Myoken Daibosatsu (Big Dipper worship), the legend that the North Star shines directly above the main hall on specific days in March is still told. The pine trees along the approach, which are the origin of its name, still welcome visitors.
